![]() | Filter system? |
rena_waits![]() Small Fry Posts: 11 Kudos: 12 Votes: 0 Registered: 08-Sep-2004 ![]() ![]() | So what is the best filter system for an oscar? is it the basic system that hangs on the back of the tank,? Maybe an undergravel? or does canister work for them? My LPS is trying to get me into a filter system that is setup under the stand. I don't remember what it is called, but it looks so intimidating. There are alot of tubes and stuff. What is the best way to go? ![]() |

Both hob box filters and canister filters are appropriate for an oscar tank. I have used both before but like the hob box filters because of their ease of use especially the aquaclear filters. The best piece of advice I can give is to be sure to have ample filtration. On my 55 I have an aquaclear 300 and an emperor 400, for just 2 fish. |

They are expensive but very efficient cuz of the high gas exchange for beneficial bacterial, therefore can handle a high bio load. |
