I looked in closely last night, and noticed that the eggs had changed to a oval-like or egg-shape rather than round, and most of them had 2 tiny black spots in them!!! This morning when I got up, I had wigglers!!!! Not a lot, but around 25-30 in my best guess. So I guess my angels are indeed fertile!!! However, one thing bothers me, I went out to a doctors appointment, came home, and the wigglers had been moved to a different leaf on a different plant. I was OK with this, but then I went for a nap (very sick right now) and woke up to find they are neither on the leaf they started, nor the new one, and the Angels are swimming round like nothing is different!! Have they eaten them then? Or have they just moved them to somewhere I cant see? It doesnt bother me too much if they did eat them, this gives me great hope that future batches will be successful!! Also, the male Angel (now named Sid Vicious), seems much more interested in eating the eggs than his female Counterpart Sneaky Petette. Why is this? She doesnt "bite" him when he tries, but she mocks biting him from maybe a half inch away, like a threat more than anything. Is she attempting to discourage his behaviour? Anyway, I was just so beaming to see the wigglers today, whether they survive or not, it still made my day! Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |

Stressing angels during spawning will almost always yield eaten eggs. However, the pros of keeping the parents in with the eggs balance out if not outweigh the cons. I'd say if you're on day three, you're out of the "danger zone" of angel egg eating---which usually occurs on day 1 (nightime dining is less common). |
