I finally finished setting up my african tank. 180g, 140lbs of sand (supposed to be live, but i doubt it), 150lbs of holey rock, 50lbs of golden lace (more to come), Fluval 404, Eheim 2217, 250W and 200W Eco-Jabers, 2 48" dual bulb strip lights. Cant wait till i can start stocking this one.

Its something called eco-complete. Its more of a finely crushed aragonite/sand mixture, but i love it so far. It is black and white.

Most likely 4 or 5 Frontosa with a small group of Haps in there along with a polypterus, and im also considering a few of the larger feather-fins. Oh and i have two 36" lamps, not 2 48"s, dont know where i got those numbers from.

Sounds great. The only thing that would be better is if you went Malawi.

I'd go with 6 frontosa..usually professional breeders reccomend that number ( 2 males : 4 females) If you do 4 or 5, it'll either be 1 male :3-4 females or 2 males : 2-3 females, which isnt quite balanced.

I've heard of eco complete Isnt it for plants?

Eco-Complete does make a plant substrate, but they also came out with an African substrate. [link=http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/caribsea_substrates.php]http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/caribsea_substrates.php" style="COLOR: #000040[/link] I have the "fine" stuff.
