I have a 29 gal tank with a firemouth cichlid in it and I like really beautiful fish. What are some good fish to add to the aquarium. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

I would go with a school of 8-10 tiger barbs, or pearl danios.

Has it been kept with other fish or just by itself? I had a mean firemouth but it was only agressive towards other cichlids, never bothered my giant danios or bottom feeders (cories and a BN).

Giant danios would be too large for a 29g, but maybe another smaller type of danio would work. I also like the tiger barb idea.

Have you thought about any bottom feeders for the tank?

tiger barbs would be awesome with a firemouth....great mix of color...almost any type of gourami could be good also...zebra danios...lots of fish could be compatible depends what you like.

its hard to say firemouths are both aggresive and plasid.i have 2 together(a male and female)and they will not let ANYTHING live with them(ive tryed 3 times, however i have a smaller firemouth in a comunity chiclid tank and he is great,he never cause any trouble, sometimes one of my convicts or my oscars will come near him, he just flares he gills and swims off.i love em.
