I currently have a 48 gallon bowfront tank and I am wondering if I could get a firemouth or 2. Are they just to aggresive to be with other fish. In the tank right now I have. keyhole cichlids, Dwarf neon rainbows, Rummynose tetras, Harlequin Rasboras, and Panda cories. Would a fire mouth terrorize the tank. I am mainly concerned with the Keyholes.

Thanks for the response. I have 3 other tanks and can move some fish around. Like the Dwarf neon rainbows or the rummys. If I made room would they mess with the Keyholes. I was think of a final tank with the following fish.

1 or 2 Fire mouths
2-Keyholes
11-Harleys
6-Panda corys
and a few ottos.

What do you think?

its hard to say that he will or he wont, ive have two big parents in together by themself and they are meeeeen, but my smaller one in my comunity tank is not aggresive at all.if you move some fish around to your other tanks give one a go, just have a tank ready to put him in if he does not work out.good luck

Not only would they eat the rummies when bigger; but also (depending on the temperament of the firemouth) bully your other fish quite severely. I know the pandas would suffer because they'd be on the bottom of the tank where firemouth usually lurk. if you really want to do semi-aggressive fish such as firemouths, you should really look into getting another tank for them. Have a look at my profile for my 40g semi-aggressive tank, it is working out really well
