Can a fire mouth fit in a 55. If so what can go with it. or maybe a jack or a green terror. What medium size cichlid would go in this tank. I want a rather aggressive fish that eats feeders. I love the predator prey action.

Well a firemouth can fit in a 55 gallon and you might get a green terror in there but they don't really bother with the feeder fish neither do the jacks. You can try if you want to and see.

Fishguy why would you go for 2 Firemouths instead of one firemouth and one jd.

I also heard if i get one of fm and jd i could also put a convict in there. True or Not?

and one more thing what about a blue crawfish for a scavenger. Main limitation to that i can see is the fish eating the craw. What do you think?

Yes you could have a convict or any other medium sized mildly aggrssive american cichlid. Curently in my 2nd 55g i have, 1 jd, 1 sarjica, 1 salvini, 1 synspilum, red tail black shark, and a fire mouth. The synspilum is growing up to go into my 125g with my nandopis tetracanthus. so thats five medium cichlids with the rtbs. so i would say maby 6 medium sized cichlids.

I wouldn't put a convict in there. I'd go for a pair of fires. They are relatively peaceful and could go with other similar fish - festive cichlid, severums or keyholes.

Yes i do consoder the JD a medium sized cichlid compared to my tetracanthus and synspilum they are light weights.jds only get to around 10inchs and compared to the dovii and others that are measured in feet they look minescue another thing is that jds grow very slowly it could take a fair while for them to reach full length. You could have 5-6 middle sized cichlids the more the better.

Instead of 2 jewels one jewel and one rtbs. and hopefully most if not all will be males, because of their color. OH and how does your rtbs do with your cichlids.
