Does anybody know the actually way to sex Firemouths? I have read a few different ones and am not sure which to trust.

A good way to tell them apart is when they are older, the male will have longer filaments on his dorsal and anal fins.. where the female will have more rounded fins, and not as long

even when they're younger you should be able to see subtle differences in the dorsal fins of males and females. the key is to have several so you can compare them with one another.

A nother way is the males have a bigger red patch then the females.
