I think I'm just a paranoid mom...but I just got a blue zebra to join my blue jewel. They are getting along surprisingly well. The Blue jewel is very calm and now hangs around very closely to the filter. That isn't new, but I'm concerned because she hasn't even noticed the new fish it seems. I guess this doesn't sound like a problem, but the zebra is just so active that it makes the jewel look rather lethargic. The jewel was rather calm to begin with, but does this sound strange? I wasn't sure if it was possible for fish to get depressed, but she just kind of stays in one place. She even let the zebra in her "spot" under a sunken ship. Maybe i'm just a worry-wort.

Your jewel was prob on the skittish side to begin with and with the addition of the hyper zebra it has her a lil spooked. She should get over it in a few days.

I always find it funny the effects of adding anything to a tank can have on some of the inhabitants.

They should sort it out. Just make sure you have plenty of places for her to hide.

i dont think its that simple... if she is up the top near the filter then she is being harassed by the zeeb and he has taken the jews teritory. zeebs are one of the most aggressive fish out there. they hold their own agaist much larger fish and just keep on harassing even after the other fish has submited and given up their teritory. this could be the problem.

Actually, they are fantastic now. They go everywhere together and they don't nip. I think the jewel was lonely. They are so cute! Thank God it wasn't bad!
