It could be possible that both of them are female.Female can lay eggs at anytime without the need for a male.Just try to look at their vent while they are spawning, the female should have a wider tube then the male. My pair of green terror bred the first time and they were extremely successful, I got almost 500 fry for the first spawn. It all depend if they are compatable with their mate Here is some pics of them spawning.http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/Aquatic_dynasty/gt3.jpg]http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/Aquatic_dynasty/gt3.jpg[/link],[link=http://photobucket.com/albums/y48/Aquatic_dynasty/?action=view&current=fisheggs.jpg

It could be lack of experience, perhaps he's not fully mature, or maybe that's he's not interested.

As a side note, typing in all caps is read as shouting. You'll find FP members very willing to help and that you will get replies. Sometimes it may take patience since we have people posting from all over the world.

Are the eggs turning white right away or are they getting eaten, next time they lay leave the light on in the tank if there are other occupants in the tank, the parents will eat there own young or eggs before they let any other fish near the nest, as soon as you shut the light off they can't keep track of were the other fish are and panic then eat.
If they are unfertilized eggs that turn white, I would say that the male is not doing his job or he may be sterile or you have a pair of hens.

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."

So you're sure you have a M/F pair? Even at ~4" my male shows the distinctive beginning of a nuchal hump.

Does it show any signs of spawning: changes in color, chasing the other GT, flaring, etc?

My GT's mate is a blue acara so my situation may be a bit different. The first time she laid eggs he would hang around the pot but acted like he didn't know what to do. The second time she practically chased him into the pot and they've been spawning ever since.

She usually guards the eggs while he takes care of the territory. He doesn't even like when I try to take pictures of the eggs or fry and flares at me. Their eggs have hatched in about two days.

It takes 2-3 days for the eggs to hatch at which point the female will try to hide the small fry in dug pits in the gravel, either under small stones or any other available surface. However, if your eggs are turning white, they are either not fertilized or diseased. A fertilized healthy egg will remain a clear to slightly yellowish tinted color rather than turning white. If the whole batch is white then they simply aren't fertilized and you can wait til the cows come home and you will never see any fry.
