I had been looking into getting blue rams for quite a while now when we decided to go to a new fish store that opened in our area. To my surprise, they had three gold rams for only $5 dollars a piece!! I had seen them for more than twice this price at other fish stores in the area. They sure are funny little guys! Just thought I'd spread my good fortune with others!

Very nice! I always look at them at the shop out of curiousity but never really thought about getting any, although I'm sure I will get some one day as rams are my favourite fish.

Have you bought all three or just the two? How are they getting along with each other?

I bought all three because they were the only 3 left in the tank and I can never leave a fish behind. They seem to get along pretty well...and I watched them for a while in the store and they got along pretty well there too. They pretty much just follow eachother around and occasionally have little spats that end in one going to the other side of the tank. Defintely fun spunky little fish.

Rams are wonderful fish & you'll gonna love them. Are they on their own or with other fish?.

I had a wonderful gold ram for over a year. He really colored up after a few weeks in my tank.

Just be very diligent with your water changes.

They are with a variety of other fish right now...tetras, gouramis, and loaches basically. I've heard that they can be a little feisty toward other fish, so I'm ready with a different home for them if they do turn out to be aggressive. As of right now (been in the tank for almost 24 hrs) they don't seem to care about any of the other fish and are still checking out their new home! It's so funny to watch them follow eachother around; I really thought they would separate into different areas of the tank once I got them, but they almost appear to be schooling...interesting, very interesting

PS...I will definitely keep up on my water changes; For the most part, I am very diligent about this and I definitely don't want these guys to die due to my laziness Thanks!

I have never had rams who were aggressive towards other fish unless they were breeding and the fish were getting to close to where they were doing it. Even then they only chase them away and make sure they stay away, but I've never had a fish killed or even injured by a ram, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Rams are definitely wonderful fish, as Jason said, and they are my favourite fish. Their colouration is one thing, but I like them as much as I do because of their behaviour.
