![]() | Got A New Female Krib |
bezzer2403![]() Small Fry Posts: 3 Kudos: 2 Votes: 0 Registered: 17-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | Hi all. This is my 1st post to you all!! Ok, i have a 48x12x12 tropical community setup with tetras, hatchetfish, angels, corydoras, rainbowfish. About 9 months ago i aquired a gorgeous male kribensis, so he went in my community tank. Hes very happy there. Today i came across a rather nice female so i decided to buy her. I put her in the tank and after about 15 mins of displaying by the male they are now both living under the same rock. What are my chances of breeding these fish. I have a spare 36x12x12 tank if they get to boisterous with the other fish, or if they spawn in the cave ive built for them then i will just remove the rock with the eggs on into the new tank and put an airstone under them, to keep them aerated. Thanks all.. paul ![]() |

NOW! I'll promise you that when the eggs are layed, you'll see them become teritorial, and when they hatch everything in the tank will be getting attacked by the kribs. Your angel may avoid the abuse, but only because the smaller fish will take it instead. Use one of your faster moving fish as a target fish in the new tank so the female krib doesn't eat any of her eggs. Once the eggs hatch in about 2 days, pull the target fish out. |

I have put an old ceramic mug in the tank to spawn in but im going to get a couple of plant pots before long. Ive broken my light tube in the process so at the moment theres no lighting. Is this likley to be a problem or would they prefer lighting. They are under the main tank so its quite dark anyway. Thanks Paul ![]() |
