hi guys,about a week ago i added my first green terrorto one of my tanks,well the gt is a male and i have a female blue acara in there and 2 green sevrums,well over the last couple of days the blue acara and the gt have been shooing the sevrums to the other end of the tank,and they have cleaned a space inside this pipe and normaly my female blue acara DOES NOT LET ANY FISH INSIDE HER HOUSE and the gt has been in there with her since i put him in,and her egg layer is poking out,do you guys think they are guna spawni know for a fact that my female blue acara is big enuff to lay but the gt is only about 3 inches long if they do spawn will he be big enuff to fertilize her eggs.jee wiz the gt colours have become really bright over the last few days,thanx

This pairing has been seen on the Board before - I think Theresa_M had this happen. For some odd reason, these fishes will cross with each other in an aquarium quite readily.

yeah from what ive seen just in the last hour they have been cleaning like crazyso id say is close,normally i dont approve of hybrids but im curious to see what the babies look like,and i think that my female blue acara is happer than evershe has livend up alot,just from what ive seen these fish(blue acaras)seem to be happier with a partner,.and the green terror,he makes me laugh,he is following the blue acara where ever she goes,its like hes fallen maddly in loveits look odd having one fish so big and the other so littleoh and they have been doing that shaking thingi forget what its called...displaying is it.

My GT and acara spawned quite a few times. Here's a link to some older photos and background info. I was able to save and raise one fry, who is now 18 months old and spawning with his mother (unsuccessfully).

Today he is as large as mom and resembles her much more than dad.

well i was rite,i woke up to a huge batch of eggs this morningits so coolive been watching them all morningi love it how while one goes and grabs a feedthe other watches over the eggsim still not sure if the male was able to fertilize thembut so far for a little fella he parental skills are greatand despite his size he goes up against the 2 sevrums with out hesitationso my female found true loveafter all.

ahhhm,that is one of my smaller tanks 55gal,,so far the fry are doing greatand ill tell ya what those green terrors can be quite nasty tooi had to put a male salvini in there for a few days,and he is bigger than the gt,but the gt shooes him away without hesitating, and from what i can see mum does most of the caring while the gt keeps a watch
