What would you all suggest for tankmates of a single Green Terror (thinking of a dream tank) I have a 90 Gallon Tank that needs somebody in it! And I have always loved green terrors. I was thinking I would put one green terror in it, but unsure of what else I would like to place in the tank. I realize that some green terrors are rather agressive, so what do you all think would be good tank mates? (I would like the GT to be the main fish)

Thanks in advance!

You could try and breed them. But what type of fish are you looking for? If you want to go with more cichlids id go with some jewels, or a jack dempsey. If your looking for schooling fish id go with maybe barbs and danios.

I would recommend a Jack Dempsey. They seem to get along fine with green terrors from what I've observed and make for great fish. They have excellent personalities and colors.

I love green terrors because they have wonderful personalities! I am afraid to have 2 GT's at once because that is the reason I no longer have my two GT's They were fine for so long, but they began to fight so I put them up for adoption (separately) I hate to see fish get hurt, so I was looking for a setup that would include 1 big fish, and a whole lotta ditherfish! We used to have some very large silver dollars in with our GT's but I personally don't care much for silver dollars. Jewels sound like a pretty good idea, but I've never kept them, and have heard they become quite agressive... Let me know what you know! Thanks again!

My male GT lives with a blue acara, Cuban, severum, angel, and sailfin plec. I also have giant danios which are great dither fish.

Gaint danios,Pearl Danios or Tiger barbs would be good, bright dither fish. Also yes jewels are somewhat aggressive but the GT can hold his own. But if your not sure go with some severums.

Wow, Thank you all so much for your ideas! I have also never kept severums, are they pretty personable fish? I was looking into blue acaras earlier today, and am unsure if I would rather have one of those vs. a GT? What would you say were more of a Pet than a scaredy fish? Im thinking that in my 90 gallon I would put:
One of the following
Green Terror
or
Blue acara
ALONG WITH
10 Tiger Barbs
6 Australian Rainbows?
One more kind of dither fish??
What kind of bottom feeder do you all think would go good in a tank like this? I have never had any luck with a regular Plec* and I would be afraid that a lace cat would become the victim of picking from the barbs (although barbs tend to keep to themselves if in a group of more than 6) I would still rather try something with a little less finnage. What have you all had luck with? What would be pleasing to the eye, and also not as vulnerable as most. Thank you all for sharing your experiences with me!

I have had kept and bred both Blue Acaras and GTs, go with the GT they are way better looking. Im not sure about the rainbows, im thinking the barbs and the GT might give them a hard time. Here is what i would go with,
-1 GT
-10 tiger barbs
-8 pearl danios
-8 rosy barbs
-6 Emerald cories
-1 BN

Hi there all, very new to this board.I have a GT living with a Jaguar in a 70 gal tank. There is no overly aggressive behavour from either fish, just bluff mainly but I feel that this will change as the fish get bigger so I will have to seperate them. The terror is 4 plus inches and the jag is at least 6 inches.
