definitely do not leave the food in the tank as this could lead to ammonia/nitrite levels rising as a result of the food decaying.
Fish not eating generally means that they are unhappy, have you tested the water? especially for nitrite, ammonia and nitrates(not quite as important). Are these the only fish in the tank?

yes they are the only ones int hte tank i have 2 of `em.
i think there happy b/c they are in a 30 US gallon tank LOADED w/plants. they swimm all around and mostly together!i think maybe they just dont like the food b/c my oscar when i had him used to do that to until i changed foods.
Tank Paremeters are
1.0 Ammonia
.5 nitrates
.2-.3 nitrates

its possible that they do not like that food (i don't think we get it over here), but zebras will usually eat anything especially if hungry. Your ammonia and nitrite levels really should be zero and this could be the reason. The levels could of risen because of the food being left in the tank, how long has your tank been up and running? was it properly cycled? how long has it been since they last ate?

it has been set up for about 2 weeks and i used cycle which adds nitrites and ammonia bacteria in the water so that is probably why it is high.i siphoned out the other food again like u said and it wasnt in the tank for more than3 hours well i was @ school.would it break down that quick and make ammonia?should i do a little water change?
they ate some other spurilina flakes i had(they were Goldfish spurilina flakes tho.)would they be ok sice u said they eat almost ne thing, and they would still be getting there spurilina?i also added my filter cartridge from a cycle tank to help this process along.i put water from a cycled tank in (about a gallon.).should i add more cycle to?
Thanks

Along with a good cichlid flake. Try feeding them algae wafers, green leafy veggies such as lettuce, and on occassion even live food. I would'nt really worry about them not eating at this point in time.Just seems way to early to be overly concerned. They could in fact just be getting use to their new home. Just remember to do at least and weekly or biweekly water change of at least 20% to keep your water quality tops.
