This is my 16 inch, 8 pound midas...for some reason he grew up much quicker and larger than the others I've owned...he's also the most aggressive cichlid I've ever owned, runs my big male dovii all over and my large umbie....

nice large RD/midas, but what size tank do u have him in that he is together w/ and umbie and dovi. Also what size are they?

He's in a 110 gallon by himself now....was in a 250 gallon tank with the Dovii (which didn't work out)...then I moved the large Umbie in there....(it too didn't work out)...so now he has his own 110 gallon tank and is soon to have his own 250 gallon tank. My Butticoferi tilapia male has bred with my female dovii...(not by my choice as I'm not crazy about hybrids)but I'm interested in seeing what the fry are going to look like. I just wish this midas wasn't so mean as I'd love to breed him with one of my many females.
When he was much younger my big butter tilapia would pick on him, but this stopped by the time he grew up to the same size as the butter...

I don't have a good clear shot of my umbie but will get one for ya..

This is my Butticoferi Tilapia that has mated with my
female Dovii!!!....(should be some "sweet" babies..ya think?...though I'm not a fan of hybrids)

Yea...women can be a real pain.....take my wife for instance, she's constantly bitching about my tanks....(especially when I told her we still had room for more)...I mean, think about it?...we all take showers, never a bath, so?...look at all that room being wasted where the tub is?..I mean, I could put alot of breeding Umbies or Dovii in there?...and, just cuz of all those dumb clothes, she doesn't want me to put a 600 gallon in her walk in closet?...(Some women have little or no reasoning at all..yanno?)....and another thing?.....we rarely use our living room, (always in the den, where I have my 150 gallon)....if we did away with the couch, the love seat and the huge antique china cabinet I could put at least another two 250 gallon tanks in there with the 39 gallon octagon?....geesch!! My son just recently moved out and is living with his girlfriend and will probably take the 250 gallon tank with him, so, that should leave me room to get another larger tank....He's a mixed martial arts fighter, with UFC or Pride or both or something?...and they say man's pets look like their owner?...well, the big 16 inch beast red devil pictured above is his, he also has two Neopolitan Mastiffs, (a black male that's 24 weeks old and weighs 88 pounds, a blue female that's 12 weeks old and weighs 48 pounds...he has a 2004 Mustang Cobra with 526 horsepower and it's getting a tad crowded trying to take the dogs to the vet etc., so, I was telling my wife now that he's moved and we have all this extra room in the garage and the "little puppies" have moved with him, we have even MORE room for fish....(she's currently trying to find an apartment for me if I buy one more tank)....I just don't understand women, do you?..LOL

great fish, that first one is big, he looks like a male frontosa with that lump on his head, but different colors and markings.
