	Help me identify this Cichlid!

He's riding solo in a 15 gal tank right now because im treating him for ich and fin rot. I know he looks kind of rough but he's cleaning up nice and his tail is growing back in. I got this fish through my moms boyfriend who had the fish randomly givin to him by a friend. The fish looked sick so I thought I'd doctor him up and then throw him in my 20 gal community tank. Also, would this fish do ok in my 20 gal tank that is home to 4 culombian tetras, 4 red wag platys and 1 clown loach? *Attached Image:*

lioness Enthusiast Posts: 159 Kudos: 55 Registered: 01-Feb-2003	That is a gold gourami, Trichogaster trichopterus, a labyrinth fish, not a cichlid. It should go well in a community tank. Though your loach will easily outgrow that tank. Gouramis are beautiful fish, hope you enjoy him (that may be a her, have to see what the fins grow out like).

Yes,yes I know that my clown loach will get too big for a 20 gal tank but that will be a while from now considering he's only about 2 inches big right now. Eventually i'll step up to a bigger tank.
