The tank is 120G. 5'x1.5'x2'

Do you have any rocks or caves in the tank, so at least the cons have somewhere to hide?

The only other suggestion I have is perhaps getting some sort of larger dither/target fish.

There is water at the bottom of the ocean

I have tons of caves, lots of hiding places i think the main problems is the convicts want to claim the big cave and the oscar doesn't want to give it up. Ill watch them to make sur ethey dont get picked on

Oscar = swimming stomach. Any fish it thinks it can eat... it will try and eat. I don't think your con's will ever stop getting picked on unless they are bigger than the Oscar. They will learn to cope with it (just like in the wild) or will be Oscar treats...

your adding 2 new fish to a tank in which the osacar has already established his own territory. try rearranging the decor of the tank. this gives both the oscar and the convicts a chance to establish new territories.

how long have the convicts been in there? i have a small school of serpae tetras with my juvi oscars who chased them for a few days but now they just leave them alone.

if both of them want a big cave, maybe arrange two large caves on either side of the tank. be careful tho, convicts can get very aggressive when they breed!

Maybe a tank divider might help them establish their own territory much easier without being chase or pick on.

Convicts will get alot more aggressive as they mature then it would be the oscar I'd worry about, not the convicts.. They are more known for cichlid aggression than oscars..

However in a tank that size they should be fine.
You could try pulling the oscar out then re-arranging the tank, that may help.

one ting to think about is that oscars grow extreemly fast say a foot in 10 months it takes a convict much longer to mature and if you have a 12 inch oscar and a 3inch con he/she will probly become chow. however a 6 inch con wont be able to kill a full grown oscar but it would rip its fins to shreads and cause the oscar a lot of stress this is going to be more likely if the convicts breed.

Thanks for all the advice, rearanging the tank help out, Plus i recently add some Clown Loaches and now the oscar is more worried about keeping them out of his cave than bothering the convicts. As for cons breeding i just hope they are both female. They both have a little orange on there bellies, but i am not sure if i know everything about sexing them. Cant tell if they have that hump on there head yet either.
