In my 50G my female keyhole is having a rough time! If she isnt being harrassed by the male keyhole, the rainbow shark (twice her size) chases her around. She spends the majority of her time hiding motionless amongst the hair algae at the back, clearly very stressed. This has been going on for sometime. She used to get on well with the male, they always swam together and have even spawned together. Now she only comes out whenever I come up to the tank or give her food. Ive tried moving everything around, adding and removing plants, creating hiding places, but none of this is working. I recently put in a selection of fake plants from another tank which helped a bit but the problem still remains. I'm worried they'll stress her to death. What should I do now?

Thanks for replying.
What sort of size should I buy them at? Would buying one keyhole be OK or does it have to be 2?
For dither fish I've already got cherry barbs and red eye tetras, will they do?

They dithers are fine and I would try to get the new female at the same size as the other female or male.

Get rid of the rainbow shark is the simple answer. Rainbow and red taild sharks can be very aggressive they are loners and like there space it is better to keep them with bigger stronger fish that can chase them back.
