The only real way imo you can tell what is what is when they spawn.. other then that you can just guess.. the one laying the eggs is female! ![]() the male has a longer spawning tube and the femals is smaller and rounder.. hth r0b3y ![]() |

If there is a pear shaped organ near the anal region, it is a female. If not, it's a male. |

To be 100% sure, you must see them spawning. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

I have 2 "pairs" of angels in my 6ft tank and 1 definite girl keeps putting eggs over pipes and anything she can find and the other acts as if it's fertilising (never see eggs coming out of that one) and they both guard the eggs but they never seem to be fertilised and I see them eating the eggs themselves eventually. Will another female act as if she's fertilising? or even add to the eggs herself? because I see it's vent down while it's doing it ![]() Last time this happened the female looked like she was getting angry at it's mate when it was doing this. |

There also might be some fighting between the 2, but they'll spawn again in 2 weeks time. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Out of my seven pairs, past and present, only two raised the fry to the full extent of their development into free swimmers. |

It's not that I'm trying to breed them because if they ever did get to breed successsfully the poor little guys would never survive in there anyway ![]() RustyBlade attached this image: ![]() |
