I am worried that I might be overfeeding my cichlids.

How often do you feed your cichlids?

I have the following cichlids in my tank
two jewels
flamingo
convict
spiny
salvini

As well as three clown loaches, two plecos and a raphael.

I feed them about ten times a week with a combination of flakes, pellets, shrimp, blood worms, sinking pellets and grubs (not all at once).

i would feed them like every other fish, once-twice aday. just remember the more times you are going to feed them, the less food to use. just enough so that every1 has a bite to eat.

I sometimes get worried that the bottom feeders aren't getting as much as the Jewels and Flamingo tend to eat a lot so I think I put too much in per feeding.

As a result I have fat jewels growing at an alarming rate.

Sometimes it's hard to make sure all the fish get their food while trying to prevent some from being pigs and some not getting anything at all. Try different ways to feed them, maybe scooping up a cup of tank water and placing the food in the cup so when you dump the cup the food spreads thru the tank and doesn't just stay on the surface.

I keep small fish with small systems, so I feed tiny amounts as many times a day as possible (within reason). This helps me get the best growth and health out of them, and fry growth is about ten times as fast as before this policy, with the same temperature, water changes, space, etc.
