Is it to small could this angel be showing what they call stunting?? Even at this young age? Someone help, everything otherwise is fine, I don't wanna have none out of 6, it will break my heart ![]() I also looked through a list of dieases and nothing that I found resembled this fish, because this is the only symptom, its hard to find anything. At least I can't......=) Angel Eel |

While obviously having to fold up fins to fit into a tank would be detrimental to finnage, poor water quality is more of a factor in stunting than tank size per se. Perhaps you have a standard fin angel (as opposed to a veil tailed) whose finage would naturally be shorter. Fin rot is a possibility, or maybe the fins were cropped short by other fish when housed in overcrowded hatchery or retail conditions. Housed under good water conditions, and not overcrowded, cropped fins regrow fairly quickly, provided they were not nipped nearly off all the way to the body. I would say that if the fins have gotten shorter than when you bought the fish, there is real cause for concern. If they are the same or a little longer, you are likely ok. |

I did break a thermometer in the four days ago would that cause the problem?? I did a 30% water change right after..and two 10% changes since then. If anyone could figure out whats wrong it would be a great help, shes my only one left I HAVE to keep her alive.... ![]() |
