I have not been able to keep any pleco, algae eaters or cory cats in my Jewel cichlid tank. They constantly pick at these guys until they die. Has anyone got any comments or ideas?

Jewels are quite aggressive!! Of course you can't keep them with cories!! They are NOT community fish!!

Would a syndontis work ? They work in mbuna tanks I think, and mbunas are pretty aggresive cichlids sometimes.

Or can try one from same locale as the jewel..

When I had my jewel tank I had two common plecos in the tank and the jewels never attacked. I now have BN with my jewels and the same thing the never attack. One of my BN is only 1.5"
