![]() | KH, Ph and GH Levels in a Cichlid Tank |

I have an 82 gallon tank which I intend to fill with Cichlids from the Lake Malawi region. I have filled this tank with fine river rock substrate and rocks obtained from my LFS. My current parameters are Ph 6.2, KH 17.9 ppm and GH > 200 ppm. I would like to increase my Ph and KH to better suit my future Malawi friends. Any suggestions as to what I add to my water to assist with this water buffering? Thanks for your help ![]() |

I would suggest looking into a type of volcanic rock, Lace rock or red lava rock. |
