The tail is spade shaped on a male and the females develop a purple belly. The males sometimes have a little purple but not nearly as dark. Good luck, Mike |

Plus, if you had a female in the tank, you would notice becuase when I put my female with a male, she instantly started dancing for the male and her belly went very very deep purple. HTH |
