I am quite a newby at this, so I don't know too much about these fish. I have a dwarf powder blue gourami and 4 neons in a 27 gallon tank. I was wondering, are kribensis or rams easy to take care of? Isone better for a beginner than the other? What are their needs?

i think that the kribs might be a little easier.i know that blue rams are harder but if you get rams.get bolivans they're about the same level of care as kribs

Kribs are nastier though, and might beat on your other fish when breeding. All cichlids have increased aggression, but rams (bolivian are very easy to care for, though) are much less aggressive.

I have a lot of experiance with both fish (kribs and Rams) and I would say that the answer depends on another factore, the gourami. From my experiance dwarf gouramis can be pretty nasty compaired to their usual peaceful nature. If the gourami is really nice, then get a ram, and like they say, a bolivian as they are easier tham german rams. If the gourami is nasty, then get the krib. Most likely, you will be getting the bolivian ram.

Can you return the Gourami to your LFS?. If you cannot, just get a pair of Kribensis, they are easier to keep & live longer.
