Then, they parents ate them all. This time, they must have laid them on top of their hole in the rock..cuz I didn't see them till today..on the bottom of their "hole" ..and they are already hatched. Still just barely flip flopping around with their big yolks..some are getting a little further..mom's picking them up and putting them back so far *fingers crossed*. They are in a 20 gal long planted tank with Ottos and an African Butterfly fish. I realize the ABF might eat a few babies if they are really slow when they get older..this wouldn't so bad imho.. Although, so far the ABF hasnt' eaten any ottos.. Anything I need to know? |

They may get real paranoid and eat the fry. OR on the other hand, since there really aren't too many other fish in there, they may just be fine and leave them alone. The ABF shouldn't be a problem since they usually stay at the top, AND usually eat off the top. To add, kribs stay toward the bottom, so those fish wont cross paths very often. |

When I came home, i spent some time taking pictures of the fish..and went out. 3 hours later, came home to find no babies in the holey rock ![]() Then I realize..mom's guarding the back of the rock. Take a peek (which is hard cuz that back side of the tank is not so accessible)..and realize mom/dad have now dug a hole UNDER the rock, on the back side, and moved the babies to there.. |

They do not like stress and they prefer to be by themselves. In fact, my kribs have not eaten very much since they have laid eggs and raised the fry. Now the fry are about 1/4 an inch long and and parents are starting to feel a little better. |
