I need ideas on setting a Lake Tanganiyka tank.
How does the setup look & any other ideas are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

A few options, depending on what kind of fish you want and how close to the real thing you want to be. For example, if you were to have a Lamp. Multi. tank, you'd have to cover just about the entire bottom of the tank in shells. generally speaking, however, starting with a sandy bottom and usuing generous amounts of rock-work is a good start for aquascaping - hard, high pH water is also a must. Any other info you have at the moment?

Set-up will also depend on the species you intend to keep and the numbers of each

For example: if you have 2 pair of rock dwelling substrate spawners you'll need 2 areas of rocky caves and an open sandy area in the middle to break the territories.

What size tank? What do you wish to keep?

Keeping brichardi rules out a huge number of other species, particularly small species, because they're so incredibly aggressive when breeding. You might be able to get away with tough species like A. compressiceps, but you'd have to start with full-grown (wild-caught) specimens. Adding juvenile fish into a tank of breeding brichardi is like setting them in front of an antsy firing squad.

How big is the tank?

The tank is 140 Litres & has a sand substrate. Please suggest me some fish & if you have some pictures of Tanganiykan setups, they're also welcome.

37 US gallons, then. I just don't think there's a species that will hold its own in that tank but isn't too big for it. Possibly, as mentioned before, a full-grown A. compressiceps, but ...

For Tang. tank photos, you can't beat the tank section at Cichlid-forum. (Also, one of my tanks was selected Tank of the Month, so you know they have good taste over there )

Do you think i should leave the 3 Neolamprologus Brichardi on their own?.

Yes, that's the best solution. Species tanks let these guys really live out their colonial lifestyle, anyway.
