Green Dwarf Pike Cichlid

http://petsolutions.com/Green+Dwarf+Pike+Cichlid-I-32570-I-C-40001578-C-.aspx

Ok so I was looking around on this site. It seems to have very good prises on things. Anyways I am still on the look out for a Cichlid to put in my 55 gal with my convics. What do all ya all think about this guy? Has any one kept one?

I don't really know anything about the fish personally, but if it is like any other type of "pike" it will be predatory to anything it can fit in it's mouth.

They say that that fish is Crenicichla notophthalmus. According to Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod in Aquarium Fishes of the World, Crenicichla notophthalmus is called the Eye-Spot Pike Cichlid. It is slightly more peaceful that the other Crencichla species, but cannot be trusted with other fish. It should be provided with many hiding spaces as retreats for any that are attacked. They get up to 20 cm, and generous feeding of live food are necessary, since they only take dried foods when very hungry. To keep them in company with other fishes would be placing the lives, or at least the fins, of their tankmates in jeopardy.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

You could well find that Sevs are a bit on the peaceful side to deal with Cons(they punch well above their weight)
