I am wondering if anybody can help...I know that there are a variety of colour morphs of the species Pseudotropheus zebra and P. tropheops. Does anyone know if the colour varieties breed true, or will I land up with a vaiety of colours if I breed one colour variety? Will the different colour varieties interbreed?

Yes the different colors will crossbreed, their the ezact same fish only different coloring.

As for the first part of your question, as long as all your fish are the same variety and have pure lines they will have the exact coloring in their fry.

Hope that helps...

Do not try it though. There are enough mutt africans out there now. Most often you cant tell what temperment they'll have or what colors even. If you want mutts go adopt some assorted africans at the lfs.
