I would stay away from mixing any of the pseudo mbuna species. You can do a lighter stocking level with the haps instead of going with mbunas. I would personally stay away from an underground filter due the digging nature of cichlid. This can cause problems with the filter. I'm not a huge fan of these filter especially with messy fish like cichlids. I would recommend a power or cannister filter. |

If you want all males they need to be as drastically diferent from each other in their coloring....Also keep in mind that fish are most intolerant of other fish that are from the same Genus, ie. Your Lithobates and a Peacock species would go better than two of either species. I say find out 6-8 that you can attain that are as different as possible, keeping in mind that 4-5 in a 55g would be ideal. post what ya think and go from there. I would avoid Protom. Twain Reef as it is very delicate and should be the dominant fish in any tank, whcich odds are he wont be in yours ![]() Really though Lithobates are so peaceful, and in a 55g, All males might be hard. I'd personally get a few females and have a species tank.....but thats just me ![]() |
