My paired angels got into fight last night. The male was attacking the female. I was worried about how much he would hurt her, so I managed to catch him, and put him in another tank. My question is this, can I try putting him back in with her? I can't leave him in the tank he's in. It's set up for africans, there aren't any in there yet, but the ph is slightly higher than the planted tank he came from. If he can't be trusted with her my only other option is to return him. Thanks for any help!

Did ur pair breed? Do u have fry in ur tank now? I had a pair of angel that like to fight alot because of some agreement issues. They will fight so much that they will leave their young unprotected. In my case it wasn't such a big issue because afterwords they would be fine again.
Are u sure they are a paired angels? How big is ur tank?

They bred about 2 weeks ago, no fry or eggs left. 125 gallons, so I think that they each have plenty of room.

Also in my exp with my old pair on angels, if one of the angels do bad in the breeding cycle the other one would be pissed and one would attack the other one(the one that screwed up). My pair would alwayz fight each spawn and it's during or after the spawn. In that case maybe u should return him to ur LFS but don't take my opinion as just yet, I would like u to hear on others on this issue.

I'd say my pair act alot like BigGee's pair.

They argue, fight, mate... Eggs are laid, fight breaks out for no apparent reason, male starts the fight, both angels are distracted, the community fish then swoop in for a caviar meal.

So I'm not the only person that has a pair of angels that are like that (btw I only have the male left, female died of columaris) In that case covered-in-bees u can take a chance and keep those angels 2gether but for the safty of the female u can bring back the angel to the LFS(I would recommend this due to the sevearness of the fights mine had). The choice is urs.

Good Luck
