I currently have two Geophagus Juruparis and one Green Severum in my tank. They get along pretty well; however, the larger Geo picks on the smaller one regularly. Would the pecking order be more mellow if I got another Geo or two. I would be forced to get rid of the Severvum due to limitations in tank size.

Thanks,

Scott

Exactly how large is the tank? Sometimes adding other fish, not of the same species would work well too.

What's the pH of your tank? IMO I think blue gouramis are really hardy and great dithers for larger americans (I use them for my oscars).

Geo. Jurupari arent that aggressive, so I'm sure they cant kill the blue gouramis.

It does depend on the size of your tank though, as there has to be room.

I'd get another g. jurupari and get rid of the green severum. The 46 should hold about three geo's full grown with the 2 blue gouramis.
