Iv'e got a spare 18"x10"x12" tank which is about 9 gal or
roughly 35 Litres.

Would a small colony of Multi's go alright in that tank ?
Should I expect them to breed ?

They have spawned in a 3ft tank but the other tankmates
ate the fry

I should think that you'd be able to fit some multis in there. That shouldn't be a problem.
I don't know about the breeding, but I suppose that they'd breed if they felt like it. It probably depends on the fish.

By the way, welcome to the site!

Depending on the number of adults, they'd be very happy in there - and if they are already breeding in your bigger tank, they will certainly continue the party in their private quarters!
