Most of the inhabitants have been in for 6 months. So far I have 5 electic yellows (Labidochromis caeruleus), 1 red top cobalt(maylandia greshakei )& 2 blue cobalts(Maylandia callainos), & 4 peacock cichlids (not sure which kind 3 of em were bought at petco as assorted cichlids, 1 is an OB). I keep hearing/seeing different opinions whethter you should or should'nt mix mnuba & haps, so I was thinking about removing the haps & geting more mbuna maybe by bumbing up my current stock or possible another species. Or should I just leave it. was also thinking about getting some type of syndonitis(sp?) ![]() By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher. Socrates- I happen to have become a philosopher |

Mbuna (most) are vegetarian and spend their days picking algae off rocks in the wild. Being algae eaters, their intestines are longer than the usual fish (in this case haps/peacocks) and are therefore ![]() Now this also depends on the type of mbuna, some like l. caeruleus and m. crabro are more on the omnivore side than others like zebras and m. auratus. |
