The parents are on guard but should I try to remove them. There are other Kribs in the tank as well as a pair of Yellow labs and she looks like she is holding fry her checks have changed color and has not eaten when feed? |

I usually leave the fry with the parents while they are guarding them. That is part of the fun of wqtching their normal behavior. The pair are in a 40 gallon along with 2 red-eyed African characins, 6 glo-lights, 2 hockey stick tetras, and 2 burmese border loaches. When the fry begin to get large (about 1 inch), I remove the fry (or at least some of them to grow them out and eventually sell them). I find that the pair won't breed again until I remove most if not all of the previous spawn. It's almost like they have a built in population control that turns off when their offspring are removed, signally them to spawn again. Withing 1 week of removing the 2nd spawn (70 fry) they spawned again. The tank now has about 15 fry in the 3rd spawn. That 2nd spawn was a humdinger!!!! |

This is there first spawning they are in a 29gal tank with 2 more female kribs one of them is an albino, the 2 yellow labs, 1 bricardi dwarf ciclid and a rhino pleco.I will get more bricardi when they get some in. |
