Okay. I have identified my little fish as one of two species or a hybrid. I think he is either a P. Elongus or a Zebra chichlid. He behaves like a Zebra, and gets along well with the others in his tank, but I noticed that as he gets bigger he is getting black lineing to his fins. With out the black he looks like a normal Zebra, with just a spot of yellow. Do you think these colorations are normal or could he be a different species that I am overlooking?

I couldn't be certain unless you posted a pic, but it sounds like a maturing P.Elongus, as they get older the dominate colors should be presenting thereselves quite nicely.

If you could get a pic it would help out tons

I did try and take a pic but hes just too fast. Plus my camera is pretty bad so in the pics that I did take, you can't see his colors real well. I could however, try to draw a picture on Microsoft Paint, though Im not sure how helpful it would be
