Hiya! I was browsing my local pet store when I came accross an awsome find in the "feeder" tank: a grayish chilid, about 1/4 - 1/2 an inch. I do not have a picture, but I went ahead and bought him. Fliping through my fish books, I believe he is either a dwarf chilid (of some kind) or a very dimmly colored african chilid.

Description: Grey/light blueish, some darker vertical stripes, a bright yellow trim on the fins.

Please let me know. Also, I think I am going to stick him in my 46g. He would be the only fish in there though (cant afford to stock it yet) and I am considering some sort of Angel/Ram/Tetra combo. ^_^

You may want to try and post a picture if possible. And I'm sure you meant "cichlid", right?

Sounds kinda like an apistogramma but a photo would help.

Vertical bars? Not something you see on most apistos. Usually they have horizontal stripes.

I doubt that any sort of Cichlid would end up in a feeder tank (unless maybe it is some kind of Mbuna). Sunfishes are Native American fish that resemble Cichlids in many ways, and they are indeed found with feeders occasionally. If the feeders were raised in Florida, I'm willing to bet it's some kind of Centrarchid.

Take a look at [link=this page]http://www.fishbase.org/identification/specieslist.cfm?famcode=302&areacode=&spines=&fins=" style="COLOR: #FFFFFF[/link].

I looked at the pictures on that site and none of them look like the one I have... simular body shape, different colors... Mine is alot more colorful then a sunfish and has yellow only along the fins.

Sorry about my mis spelling. Its been a long week!

I found a few photos of fish online that look simular:

(Mine is a little more greyish/blue and less colorful)

Almost like this:
