My Neolamprologus Brichardi are laying eggs every month, but for the last 3 months, i'm not seeing any fry. What do you think the problem is?. I used to breed them before, but now they seem to stop after laying the eggs. There are only 3 Brichardi in the tank.
Thanks alot in advance, for all your help.

If there are no fry appearing in the tank, then presumably someone is eating the eggs...

Try removing the third fish who is not spawning and see if the eggs make it.

When do they dissapear? Do they hatch?

What type of gravel are you using? Sometimes the parents will move them over a pit, and the fry will find there way through cracks in large gravel.

If they are free swimming, check the filter to see if its properly sealed to prevent fry from being sucked in.

I would observe them carefully, I doubt the parents would let the third brichardi near their fry anyways, and rarely would they attack fry from the same colony.

I also don't think that the 3rd Brichardi is eating the eggs or fry. I was thinking that it's something to do with the water, as the parents will defend the eggs, but when the eggs are turning to fry, they just disappear. I haven't seen any fry, only eggs. The gravel is quite fine & i don't think that the parents are moving them around, even if the move the gravel & make some pits.

I'd be checkin' your water chemistry

I had the same problem with my "Daffodil" tinkered with the parameters a bit and now i can't stop them. I think the key is find the right balance and maintaining it.

All Tangs are sensative to changes in their water.
Maybe their eating the eggs/fry knowing they won't fair well
I also agree problem or not on removing the 3rd fish

Thanks for all your reply's. I will do a good vacuum & a water change & see if they'll breed again. No, i'm not taking the 3rd Brichardi away, as they seem very happy together.
