I have a pair that I bought in October, set up in a 5.5g, saw their first fry a month later, and I've already had to set up a 10g as a grow-out tank for them.

They don't live in colonies like multies. As with other Tangs they require a higher pH. Sand substrate for digging and one shell per fish is usually recommended, although I have 3 large shells and ~a dozen smaller in my 5.5g; gives the fry a place to hide.
