I just picked up my kribensis pair on Monday; they are so pretty! But i rarely get to see them because they are always hiding behind the rocks. I have a flowerpot in the tank and they seem to have no interest in it. Are kribensis usually really nervous fish? What should i feed them? I have been feeding them pellets, is there other foods that are better for them?

I have named the girl Molly, i am not sure about the guy though...

Just give them some time to settle & they'll be roaming around the tank very soon. Kribs usually love pots & they also breed in them.

They eat alot of different food, but you might feed them some Brine Shrimp.

What are the other fish that you have?.

my guess is that they wont feed for a few days. after they become use to the tank, they may explore and later find the flower pot.

I agree, give them some time to get used to their new home.

it is typical of new fish to hide for a while. they have got to establish their territory. and their "rank" in the tank.

I've had kribs for many, many years and none of my mated pairs have been the least bit interested in flower pots. Instead, they usually dig a cave underneath a piece of rock or driftwood. As stated above, just let them get used to your tank and they will spend more time out front, and don't worry if they just aren't into the pot.

Good luck with your kribs, they are truely great fish!!!
Very entertaining, especially when they starts to spawn and dance around.

I feed mine (used to when i still had them) flakes, veggies, frozen blood worm.
They especially love the worm. Only introduced them to condition for breeding.
And give your fish a good month in your tank, then rise the temperatue a bit to about 28~30 degrees C.
Then go heavy on high protein food, like live food and frozen food.

You'll be surprised.
