I really like Yellow Labs and would like to take a shot at breeding them, how many could i put in the 65 G aquarium and could i keep any other sapecies with them. Please give me any good ideas for a Malawi combination including these fish. |

Acei, Ps. Socolofi, Ps. Saulosi. there's a few more say popular ones as far as Mbuna go. You could also have say 6 yellows, and a trio of Aulonocara (peacocks). Or 6 yellows and a trio of one of the smaller, and more docile Haplochromies... Start with the Yellows, do some research, see what grabs your eye and let us know. We can help with suggestions, and compatibility, etc. but you should pick the fish there going to be in your tank ![]() |

How many fish would be appropriate for a tank this size if i chose all breeds similar in size to the yellows. I visited my LFS today and they have a very good selection of Africans for very good prices. I really like the Yellow Labs and the Electric Blue Johannii. If i had these two types what other species would compliment them well? |

They're great little fish. ![]() Also some [link="Maingano"]http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=756" style="COLOR: #FFFF00[/link] are very nice. These are all fish I currently have in my 115g and they're all great. ![]() ![]() ![]() This will make a nice mbuna setup. Just make sure there are plenty of rocks as mbuna love hiding in and around the rocks. In a 65g you can probably fit 5-6 of each. Or as said above you can add the electric yellows with a group of peacocks. This will also be a cool setup. A good site to check out is [link=http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/index.php]http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/index.php" style="COLOR: #FFFF00[/link] Here you can look at lots of profiles and see which fish you like. Well I hope this is helpful. ![]() |

I had no intentions of making any money off of it. Just thought it would be interesting and a good learning opportunity, but ive decided I would rather have a nice community cichlid tank. I was thinking about 5 yellows, 3 Johannii, and maybe 5 Afras of some type. Is this too much or is there room for more? |
