hehe .. so now to a different thread for a different fish. I'm just looking to find out cool information on JD's from people who have had personal experience with them or people who know people that have had personal experiences with them.

things like if their trainable like oscars as far as petting and hand feeding...things like that.

any cool tidbits will be appreciated..

I have kind of been reading your other thread about Oscars but just for a refresher. You are putting a JD in a 55G by its self?

Personaly I have never kept one. I would like to but I don't want to have a semi-big tank with a pretty large fish in it. They are very pretty fish and can be quite agressive at times. Some lady just brought in a 8" JD that was beating up her Catfish and Clown Knives. She was also feeding lots of live fish. I think that might help trigger some of the aggression. I wish you the best of luck.

hehe thanx for the luck... actually he's in a 60gallon by himself. I was told that this was an ok sized aquarium for one JD...I do have a pleco.. have had him approximately one year and he always hides and loves the driftwood I put in there about a month ago.... I never see the guy.. hehe

I could be wrong, but that plant sounds like duckweed.

The plant could be anything.

Duck Weed, Water Wisteria and Water Lettuce all float and are pretty indestructable.

Doesn't elodea(spelling?) grow like that. I have heard it just makes more pieces of elodea and soon you will have elodea coveing the top of your tank.

20 Gallon Long:
Aquaclear 300
2 Bolivian Rams, Mikrogeophagus altispinosus: Gumby and Pokey
