![]() | Odd ram behavior |

She (one of three) will occasionally rub her gill cover across the edge a piece of slate or rock. Her gills look fine, and there are no other signs of problems. (water= 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate) I recently added a male to the tank. Could this be a pre-spawning behavior? |

Flashing can be caused by external parasites that bother the fish. The fish "itch" so they rub against something to scratch it. Keep an eye on her, it may be a parasite, but it could be that they are bored. My old altispinosus used to flash for no reason, and with no signs of parasites. Just keep a close eye on her to see if anything shows up on her. |
