Just recently, i finally found out an absolute way of sexing kribensis. Some people used to sex them by their coloration or the shape of their tail. Now, i can proudly tell you an absolute way of sexing kribensis.

You can tell the difference between male and female kribensis for sure by looking at their dorsal fin. Females have a round dorsal fin, while males have a sharp dorsal fin.

Coloration can vary with age and pecking oder in a group. Shape of tail may also vary with age.

malawi freak- females do not always have a red belly. Males get red bellies too but not nearly as often.

You could look at fins under their head sorta (forgot the name, caudal? i dunno...). Male's are definatly more pointed and females are way roundeder. I had krib babies a while back and i just got rid of them. They were about a half an inch or less and i could already sex most of them. I had a pretty even amount of m/f.

Darn, what a nice fish to be using for feeders, can't you sell them to fish store or trade them for store credit ? (to buy fish supplies)
