I have a question about "vent's"..i know that they are used in telling what the sex of the oscars is, but where are the vent's located actually. I know this might be a stupid question but i have a friend that has two albino oscars and he just want's to know the sex of them. And being the good friend i am; i went out looking for the answer to that, and so that bring's me here. I just want to know is the vent's like it's gill's or what?...

i heard of telling the difference by the fins like if the end of the fin is more sharp like than it's a male and if the end's more curved down then it's a female, but you can't alway's count on that fact.
But the one way they said you could tell was doing a check on the oscar's "vents"....so where are these located cause not one really said...like is it at the back where i think they should be or am i just completely lost here...i really want to bring him back with some information on this.

Or if anyone has any other tips on telling weather they're male or female, believe me it'll help...

The vents on cichlids are located between the anus and the anal fin on the bottom of the fish. They're small, but stick out from the fish a little ways.
