Hi. I'm new to this site and to Oscars. I recently bought 2 oscars. They aren't tigar oscars. They look alot like little zebras. Does anyone know of a good site with pictures that may help me?
PS. I did my research before I bought them. They are in a 125 gallon tank...they are only about 2-3 inches long and look so tiny!
Thank you!
Jenny

if i remember right they are just baby stripes for a common oscar. the stripes will become smaller and grow out as it grows.

the yellow in the ye will disapear and the stripes in the eye will also fade out. in the end i believe they become mostly black with faint lines here and there were stripes use to be or maybe a stripe or two left behind. not entirly sure. the pic i showed you was my own oscar when i first got him. that was a couple yrs ago and i gave him away shortly after.

i very oscar imformative site is http://www.theoscarspot.com/

Thank you! I've been on the website you gave me, thank you for the link..
I also have two albino oscars that have black tint on their dorsal and tail fins. Are they just a morph of the albino?

dont take offence but more then likely bad breeding quality. oscars are mass produced unfortently so the black tint in the labinos is inperfections.

by the way nice tank size for oscars. cant believe how many people try to stuff 2 of these large fish in a 55g and think they are fine.

well i made a mistake. i wasnt to sure about the black pigment so i researched it. this is a quote from theoscarspot.com.

"Albino – Rarely true albinos. A mostly white Oscar. May contain small patches of red, orange, or yellow. Albinos where the patches of color form vertical stripes or have black pigment considered Lutino Oscars."(www.theoscarspot.com)

so according to this you have lutinos
sorry for the confusion.
