When i got my oscar over two months and he has stayed the same four inches. The only real difference is that his fins got a tiny bit bigger. I am feeding oscar growth mix and evry now and then i give him feeder fish.

what size tank do you have it in?

how much and how often do you feed?

two months is a pretty short time to see any major growth in a four inch oscar, I think you are expecting too much too soon.

happy fish keeping

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."

If he eats, swims, has good color and shows no signs of illness I wouldn't be too concerned. Mine went thru a big growth spurt until ~4-5" then slowed down.

Don't be mad at me after you read this
It's just my experience when I was a kid with no knowledge in fish keeping..

I used to have 3 oscars in a 24 inch tank (that's the biggest I could afford and allowed by my parents). I remembered that they ate like pigs and grew like weeds. I fed them once daily with bloodworms only.. and occassionally feeder guppies. But they will eat until their bellys like balloons. In a few months, they grew from 2 inches to around 8 - 9 inches. Two of them formed a pair and brutally killed the 3rd one .
So oscars are really fish that grow fast even in most adversed conditions. I believe something's wrong with you fish. Could it be stunted or having some kind of internal parasites? How does it take its food? I remembered mine used to attack their food like wild paranas.. especailly when feeder guppies were in the menu.

There's nothing wrong with this fish or the feeding method you're using. If you want the fish to grow a bit quicker, try live food.
