I have a 4'x18"x18" tank

or

US Gallons: 67.33
UK Gallons: 56.07

anyway current stock

4 Nimbochromis venustus
7 Labidochromis caeruleus
3 Sciaenochromis ahli
1 Metriaclima greshaki
4 Protomelas similis
4 ob peacocks
3 Clown loaches
1 Cat fish of some description (chinease alge eater i think)

The problem is im doing 2 water changes a week at 60-75% to keep the nitrates acceptable the fish rang in size from 2" to 6" (the one male venestus is huge!)

im thinking will it help if i return the ob peacocks?

the fish are happy, they eat well and the Protomelas similis are breeding.

problem is i know there only going to get bigger?

i was told when i bought the tank 12 months ago that 25-30 cichlids would fit easy.

im thinking i need a new tank if i wanna keep em, can someone sugest a size? i recon 6'x24"x24" sound right?

In terms of potential length that's more than what I have in my 115g. So yeah like you said a new larger tank will be needed if you want to keep them all.

i recon 6'x24"x24" sound right?

I also think a 6'x24"x24" would be good. That’s about 180g. And it’s a 6ft so the bigger fish like the venustus will be happy.

I think that the Nimbochromis venustus will get quite big & can reach 9-10". Even the 3 CL's will get big, but they take more time & are a bit slow growers.

what if i move the venestus to a 3*18*18 ?

i dont have cash for a massive tank right now. also i added carbon to the filter this week and the water is staying much clearer, i could probably get away with only 1 water change this week

Yes, it's better to move them to another tank.
