I have recently purchased 3 P. Acei, 3 aulonocara stuartgranti "ngara" and 3 yellow labs. I have noticed that there is a rively between the p. acei and the aulonocara. The largest Acei bites the females and the male aulonocara will chase him. Will this subside? It is probably nothing.

Well usually the rule is not to mix mbuna with haps because mbuna r more aggressive usually and they have different requirments but with one exception yellow labs they r quite peaceful. but i dont think ur acei will give up attacking ur aulonocara. but im only like ametuer with fish tho......

I my opinion I would get rid of the peacocks and move them into a seperate tank if you plan on breeding them. Then probably up the number of acei and yellows.

Hi there Mr.

How big is your tank? Part of your problem could be the size of the tank, with the number of fish in it...Also do you have any rock (Texas Holey Rock/Limestone) formations in the tank, or caves where the fish can go and hide?

Having these caves and places for them to hide will definately decrease the aggression that is going on in the tank, because most of the time I found my cichlids had the "out of sight, out of mind" way of living...thus oh peacock has disappeared, oh well I'll go back to my corner now

Also I don't think "ngaras" should be kept in with the yellow labs and the aceis...it may make for a pretty tank, and it might have sounded like a good plan, but apparently it wasn't...but, then again I'm not positive...

But, if you are going to try to keep them in the tank all togetherThey are going to need a nice size tank 75 gallons at least, and plenty of rock/stone/driftwood/pvc hiding places to go and get away from said aggression, otherwise it will continue, and eventually someone will get hurt...

Let us know about the holes/caves and size of the tank, that would help
