Is it really important to have pairs of Discus? I have had 3 for quite some time now, and they are fine.

I was curious since my smallest one looks a little lonely lately. Im sure he wants a little something something on the side..hehe

Also if there are 2 pair in a tank, any chance for babies?

Thanks, any info would be nice..

Its realy hard to get a pair of discus 9breeding) but if you get the right two then you might be in for a chance how big is your tank? what type/s of discus do you have if they are differant types then you are in a very slim chance of getting a pair .
So how big of a tank do you have your discus what else do you have in with them?

I'm sure you're discus will be fine with the three of them. I've even heard three is better then two. I have one discus and an angelfish in one tank and they get along great. I think the number of discus you need depends on the discus.

OK try this for odd-ball.

My huge discuss likes my medium size discus, they are always swimming around the tank together, like boyfriend and girlfriend haha. No one likes the smallest discus including my angelfish, everyone picks on him. GET THIS my smallest discus is in the best conditon, perfect condition besides the angel which is impecable. OK my question slightly moddified is, should I throw the smallest discus a bone and get him a girlfriend? Or could it really change my mood in the tank??

Smallest discus--happy even though everyone nips at him, he is is great conditon.

Angel fish---kind of just a loner fish, but no major problems, just a punk, but great condition also.

Medium discus--kind of a loner fish too, but likes to be with big discus, but doesnt bother anyone.

Big discus--fighting with the angel always for king of the tank, but I think he has the title for the most part. Other then that pretty happy camper.

I was thinking of another dicus for the smallest one, but they seem pretty happy, I dont like it when they arent happy..

I just got the EHEIM filter system vise the JEBO over head and they are SUPER SUPER happy lately..
